Newbie Tuscan owner with questions
Discussion
Hi there everyone
Well i'm the proud owner of a 2000 Tuscan and have had it for just over 2 weeks now. I'm very pleased with it (looks gorgeous and sounds as good as it looks) but it does need niggles sorting out and i'm aware that niggles and TVR go hand in hand with each other.
I have never been on a forum before and thought that this would be a great way to talk to other TVR owners and enthusiasts.
I am experiencing a bad water leak dripping down from behind the dash into the drivers side footwell and collecting into a small but impressive puddle. I have noticed that the windscreen rubber seal is not actually attached to anything in a lot of places along the bottom of the window is this blatently the cause or am I looking in the wrong place? Also could this water ingress cause my inside air fans to come on randomly and drain my battery as my alarm has been going off this evening and when I checked my car I found the fans blowing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the fold
I would have thought that the window seal has to be the main cause. Electrics are not my forte but I would have thought that with water running around the dash area electrical shorts may well cause your alarm and fans etc to start playing around. I would take it to an independant TVR specialist and get them to try to re seal the window. Hopefully some of the many eperts on this site will have some better advice!!
PS pics please!!

i could be wrong but leaks are often seen around the front of the doors, and then running down.
i think the windscreen seal is more of a trim than anything else, the window is bonded in i reckon.
mike.
Agree with Milu I had this exact issue and it was actually the seal at the top of the door window.
The window is bonded at the bottom
Check that the glass is pushing againts the seal all the way around when the door is closed
Have a look under the the dash on the passenger
side and you will see a little black box with
the words HEATER ECU on the side of it.Check
it for signs of water as this will probably
be the reason the heater fans are coming on?
Dry it it out and maybe be move it along a bit
to a drier spot under the dash as it is only glued
or velcro'd in place.
Have fun with the car, I know I am going to miss
mine when I sell it but will probably be back for a Sag
when funds permit.
