Looks like the scammers may have gotten the speedcam site suspended due to its content.

I just got through to the html index, with the page as described above the only accessible page.

I wonder if the owner is currently languishing in a CIA cell in Eastern Europe under trumped up terrorism charges?

I suspect the URL just went to that page anyway via a forwarding/masking mechanism.

Do please dont get too paranoid old chap.

Really.

Unless you have information to the contrary, its probably moved for the same reasons any website content moves. Cheaper provider, issues with the old provider, etc etc

I doubt very much as if he has.

What is quite common for some websites is to host the website itself on some free web hosting or on webhosting that came with your ISP (in this case blueyonder) and then have their domain name set up in such a way as it points to that address (often called "web forwarding" ). This is a damn sight cheaper than getting the domain itself hosted.

What I suspect has happened is that the domain registrar of speedcam.co.uk has suspended the account for some reason - non-payment of domain fees perhaps (I haven't checked) or some other dispute. Could be any number of reasons. The registrar have obviously disabled the web forwarding and instead made the domain point to the 'account suspended' page instead.

(Edited because Ted still hasn't fixed the "inverted comma, close bracket" bug)

Right - there's your reason:

Dozy chump let the domain name expire and it is suspended whilst he is renewing the registration.
