I'd recommend going through Jamie for domains but if he can't help you, Amenworld offer reserving of EU domains.

Network solutions want $99 dollars to pre-register a domain that you have a trademark for - an amount that is non-refundable should eurid decide you can't have the domain!
Then if you want to register non-trademarked names - that'll be $179, non-refundable in the event that your application is not approved by eurid.
Ouch.
any ideas on what your prices might be Jamie? Mail me through my profile if you prefer.

Sunrise is at cost from the Registry.
For registrations claiming Public Body Status : $49 (non refundable)
For registrations claiming Registered Trademarks: $59 (refund $40 for an application that is not reviewed by the registry)
For registrations claiming Other Prior Rights: $109 (refund $90 for an application that is not reviewed by the registry)
Those are our costs.. before any margin / Currency Conversion costs.
I expect the .eu will be > £5.49 < £9.99
need to see what discounts I can negotiate with the Registry.
Will keep you all updated as i get more from my developers.

Peanuts I'm afraid - my firm charged $4k per name just to be in the top 10 of each of the 6 queues we have to hit the registry, again no guarantee it will be registered, and we sold out of all 60 places within an hour of announcing it, 1 client put the same name in 6 times, 1 for each queue, thats £24k in the hope of getting one name.
Cheers

Not sure I understand that Paul - Let's say for instance Ted has trademarked "Pistonheads". As long as he gets there before Feb 7th, surely no-one else is going to get pistonheads.eu no matter how much money they throw at it? Or have I missed something?

Crazy... so that's 200+ people claiming a trademark on the word "sex"?
Even allowing for "sex" to be trademarked in every european state that's still a bit optimistic. Someone is making a fortune here, I suspect not eurid though.
Made all the more crazy by the fact that from what I can tell it's not first come first served, and there are still 2 months till the deadline.

I work in the technical side as opposed to the legalmarketing side but as I understand it Trademarks can be disputed, usually at huge cost, but that's not really the issue, it's more around IP rights and brand protection which may not be covered by trademark laws, which can again be fought legally but $24k is drop in the ocean compared to the cost taking this action.
E.g Microsoft has started using the brand name "live" but I do not believe this is trademarked, they have bought live.com (I hate to think how much that cost!) but I don't think this can be trademarked, however as all their future marketing around their on-line offerings is based on this "Brand" you can be assured that they have done everyting they could to get the name. (MS is not the company I was talking about).
Cheers
Paul
Hi _dobbo_ I see what you're saying, and if that's the case then our sales people did a fantastic pitch! I do know from a technical perspective that the time the name was applied for is important according to EURID, could it be that where a prior right (not trademark) is claimed it is then on a first come, first served?
As I say not being in the marketing side I could be talking boswellox, but they(my co) charged a premium to be one of the first 60 to go through, and another, smaller, one to be in the top 100 of each queue, and the IP managers of some fairly large corps were more than happy to pay.
Cheers
