Nice

Love the way the feathers on the neck are fanning out in a geometric pattern. My only downside with your image is the DOF on the beak, but close focussing with a 400mm, minimal DOF is what happens I guess.

Like 'em, that's an angle I haven't seen before. You can really hear the bird crying out. Is there a wildlife sanctuary or a zoo near you ? Well, I suppose there must be really - either that or all the small mammals in your neighbourhood have a short life expectancy !

Is it a Golden Eagle, or a Spanish variety?
Superb shot either way, I wanted to see the Sea Eagles in Mull this summer but funds were a bit limited.

Time to call on the ornithologists, but is it due to a second eyelid blinking ?

The lighting angle changes, so if it's stuffed it's on a stand that moves.

Not stuffed, and I was very gratful to have a 400mm lens. That sucker had attitude! I can jump on a cable car near to where I live and it takes you to the top of the mountain, where there is a bird of prey centre.
