Hi, could a few people try here and let me know if you have any problems accessing the upload form/page

I have had to put IP bans in place, some flippin German chav equivalents have been uploading crap onto it.. quite annoying!
I don't want this to mean other innocent people being banned, though... so if you have problems I will have to get around it somehow.

Dave.

Edit: Yes the address is http://ph.uncle-dave.co.uk/upload/

Tower, what tower, I can't see a tower

Incidently, have you thought about having all upload images put into a safe area for approval before publication. That way you can review the images before allowing them to be available for public consumption. Just an idea.

...and on another sad techy note, you should remove the ability to browse the images directory....although it has just provided me with a good 15 minutes of entertainment

yeah thanks!

The approval bit wouldn't be too good as most people would want their images uploaded instantly.

The image directory is a bit of a slip up..
Would CMODing it to 773 fo this?

Well, that's entirely up to you, personally I would feel a bit uneasy allowing anyone to upload images to my server, but I guess as long as you check regularly to make sure there is nothing really bad on there, then you should be fine.

It's been a long time since I done any linux/unix security type stuff, so can't say whether or not that would work. However there is likely to be a setting in one of your config files if you use apache or similar, that prevents directory browsing. It's a pretty common setting for web servers.....now about those jags........
