I am doing some work on streotyping, for which I need to generate a number of single words that might be used to stereotype one ethnic group by another. For example, I already have "devious, corrupt, dirty, stupid, clever, intelligent", etc.

I need some more for trials, ideally pair matched (clean/dirty) but single positive or negative words are fine too.

I though the PH'ers will have views on this and lots of suggestions!

I have tried a dictionary and thesaurus, but the words need to be fairly simple ( understood by the average school leaver ( e.g. I have 'conscientious' but I am not sure everyone will be able to read it or know what it means).

They need to be able to be used with any ethnic group so they shouldn't relate to physical differences such as colour or facial features. They should also not be offensive (yes, I know 'corrupt' and 'dirty'are offensive, but it isn't outright insulting and is a matter of opinion as to whether some one is either of these things).

This is a not a call for every racist term you have ever heard, the words must be able to relate to anyone, irrespective of ethnic origin.

When I have got the work on the web site I will post a link abnd you can see how it works. It uses the words to identify if you tend to steretype other ethnic groups.
