Does anyone know how I should go about breaking a story to the media.
Cant say quite what it is yet..and its nothing to do with any celebrities.

Thinking about the BBC or a newspaper??

Yep..

For Midlands Today, may not be for local media but he could do it for you or tell you who to speak too in London.

Most organisations have a press release database. If it is motoring related ask Paul Smith of Safespeed for a copy of his mailing list.

I was a reporter on local and regional papers for five years.
It all depends on the type of story. Best bet is to give the News Editor of the paper/tv/radio station a ring and give them a brief idea of what the story is. Then they'll probably put you through to a reporter to get into more detail.
If it's especially complicated, it might be best to put things down in an email or press release. Reporters do make mistakes, so putting the facts down in front of them can be a big help.
But don't expect too much control over how whatever-it-is is reported, remember they're not a service!

You just phone the newsdesk of whichever organisation you like.

If its a story that could earn you money, phone Max Clifford.

If it's current affairs or political scandal (eg NHS funding goes down drain) just ring up the TV or radio station and ask for the Newsdesk. If what you've got to say is newsworthy, they'll listen.

The Suns newsdesk number is on the foot of the back page, not that I read it or anything.
