The clue was in the title - or are you unable to receive the meritorious transmissions of the British Broadcorping Castration?

I try not to.

Mrs Beano's the addict - and I find resistance is futile - I don't think I know how to use the thing.....

....or the three boxes underneath it! (But then I haven't RTFM)

But now you come to mention it, I did lose sight of the fact that you'd posted it in the title!

Still have less noise than a Nikon

I did happen to catch some of this program and maybe it's just me be being a grumpy old git but, am I the only one who found it irritating and childish? As much as I wouldn't mind having a poke around in ms Humble's chemistry she does get on my threepennys with her over enthusiastic excitement about everything. i.e. when setting fire to some paper and it starts burning: "WOW, that's amazing!" er, no... not really.

That is the curse of the modern day TV presenter. "wow, that's like, totally like, cool or something."

Science is perceived as boring, so they have to have some bimbo bouncing around all over it to jazz it up, make it funky or whatever it's called this week. Unfortunate but there you go.

Nice location though.

I saw a little bit - reminded me of Blue Peter making box girder bridges from toilet roll middles.

I remember making a spectrometer, from a protractor, bog roll tube, blue tack and a couple of razor blades. I eventually got a BSc (admitedly not JUST for that...... er....well, possibly....) for that and actually making very good and detailed measurements of the wavelength of light or something.

Just went to show me that you don't need high tech to get a good scientific result.

(Course, put a £££s camera in my hand and I can still consistently produce cr@p images.... )

Pah, when I was at school I had plans to convert wall ties into nuclear missiles using uranium as solid fuel. Plan fizzled out somewhat due to lack of uranium... there was a fuse made of car roof guttering and meths too, I recall. Not so much Armageddon as flaming fingers
