S reg 4.5 from ebay problems so far.

After pulling her apart last night I've found the following wrong....
Offside antiroll bar lower bush has slipped down the drop link!! Not good but easy fix, will look into the old rose joint ones I think.
Front nearside shock, all the oil is outside the shock. Can't be good. But there's some on ebay and if not Avo ones are only £85 +vat each.
Other thing I spotted was that where the intake pipes attach to the air box the air box pipes have collapsed slightly and don't connect properly. Might look into some ali replacments for these to seal into the airboxes.
Cigarette lighter fallen out. Fixed that one already.
Only other bummer was the car rolled on the trailer and the bonnet hit the jockey wheel handle and has added another chip to the bonnet. ho hum.

Was one of the trickier fixes, never realised they screwed into the rear of the socket.
Indeed, you need fingers like an arabian porn star to put the fag lighter back in situ, trying to slip your fingers in the back and hold the shaft while you push and twiddle from the front...

In my profile that was refering to my old Cerb but they're all the same.
Ideally it's a 2 man job but manageable on your own.
You need a Allen key and that's about it.
Whizz round the door sides and bottom and you'll see all the little bolts like the ones that hold the scuttle and engine panels in place. once these are out you can pull teh interior panel off and carefully unplug the wiring, if my memeroy serves me correctly it's tucked inside the leather trim.
Reminds me, need to take my passenger one off to sort the wing mirror wiring as that's not working either.

Sorry to pop up and quote this , but this quality of sarcasm deserves it

Well, had the front wheels off today and cleaned all the arches out and checked over.
Upper wishbones hve some serious corrosion! A good 3-4mm thick layer came off. Still plenty of material there but I think I'll be replacing them at some point.
Still not got to the bottom off the PAS fault. It appears that the rack has blown as the oil looks like it has sprayed out of the nearside boot, all over the wheel and all over the engine tray etc. Oil is a very milky foamy consitency too. Very odd.
Other faults I've found are, air box outlets to silicon crossover hoses have all collapsed and need to replace the airboxes to fix this really as I dont't want bits of airbox flying through my engine!
Check down the ports as I had it all off and the valves look healthy, slight mucking of front left valve (dunno how they're numbered on these yet!).
Have to say the rst of the chassis looks pretty good, Would say slightly better than my old one. The powder coat that these things came with is probably the worst I have ever seen. It just lifts lets water under and then sits there festering. Terrible idea, almost think it would have been better if they'd have painted them by hand!

We have a pair of front shocks with there matched springs, sitting on the shelf, that should have gone on ebay, just not got round to it. They were £800 fitted by TVR
three or four years ago, before we knew there were others available 
They have only done about 7K miles & still look nice, let me know if you fancy them they will be less than the Avos I’ve heard ali works loose if you try & fit it to the air box, I made a mould from the one good one that was left of ours then remade the others, just using a fibreglass kit from halfwits, it worked a treat.
