Not one for my horological knowhow, am looking to buy Mrs Tiga a watch for Christmas, but being the awkward allegic-to-everyting type, she can't have a watch that contains any Nickel. Now I'm not made of money, so can anyone recommend a decent timepiece that fits the bill, or knows which watches don't have the Nickel content. I've heard Raymond Weil don't have any, but am unsure on any others.

Over to you lot.

Thanks

James

Try an Omega, they do some nice ladies watches.

Can I wear an Omega stainless steel watch if I am allergic to nickel?
The materials used by Omega are subjected to severe tests in order to avoid this problem. The stainless steel used by Omega does contain nickel, but this must first be transferred from the material to the skin before an allergy is triggered. Our stainless steel is so stable that it does not release nickel and is therefore safe for allergy sufferers. The only exception is for those who are hyper-sensitive to stainless steel, i.e. those who cannot cook or eat with stainless steel utensils. In this case, we recommend you buy a watch which is made of titanium.

Don't know you budget, so apologies if I'm miles out. Patek Aquanaut has a glass back (with visible mechanism) and 'topical' strap, specially developed to be hypoallergenic. You're looking at £5000 though

But, remember, you don't buy a Patek, more look after it for the next generation

IIRC the thing to look for is 'stainless steel back'.

Check out Danish Design Watches. Very reasonably priced, look good and best of all are titanium, which should be good for the hyper allergic.

That suprisingly good value! I thought Pateks' started at somewhere near the price of a new family hatchback

I am wearing a rather nice Adidas watch at the moment, all made from titanium. not really a ladies watch, but was only £100 in Jersey (no VAT ). Otherwise...a plastic Casio digital timepiece?
