400 se how do i get the boot open?

Hi All, bootlid wont open because the solenoid wont actuate, this is because the switch stuck open and the fuse blew, stopping the heater fan working thats how i knew something was amiss. The relay under the dash is working, so other than taking a crow bar to it..How?

I don't know how to get in to the boot if the solenoid packs in either. Not paying attention, obviously. Could someone e-mail the info to me.

Easy, shoot the locks off with a 12G.

Never had that problem with any of my wedges but is it similar to the griff method which I've had to use a few times ?

I might like to know how to do it if mine fails. Barring removing the hinges, which are hard to get at anyway because of the tea tray in the way. I have often wondered. Perhaps someone could email me with the solution.

Anyway, sorry to have caused so much suspicion. I'm not a regular contributer. just but in with my two pence worth when the topic interests me.

390 sitting in garage just now. Been looking at plenums etc but can't decide if it's worth it as there's a lack of people, up in NE Scotland, to set it up once fitted.

Nothings fallen off yet, although I met a guy, yesterday, with a Plus 2 Lotus Elan and the nut holding the nearside rear hub had come off. The hub and wheel came off, the Elan dropped onto the road, the wheel bounced up and hit the passengers door. The car wasn't damaged, so he must have been tootling along when it happened. he said that he was just giving it a run before laying it up for the winter.

I found a Lotus owner with a wheel off too a while ago. He'd had the wheels coated and couldn't get his socket in properly any more. Made a real mess of the bodywork at the rear of the front arch.
