hillclimb/sprinting in cambs/norfolk/essex/beds area

hi, im just wondering what hillclimbs and or sprinting type events happen in the area?

I can`t think of any hill climbs in my area of Norfolk Stewart - in fact I can`t think of any hills either!

you get sprints held at hethel (lotus factory near norwich), north weald (on the M11 past stanstead), they now hold a sprint at snetterton and cadwell park, they had a sprint at bentwaters this year (near woodbridge), but there's rumours of it not running next year, they also have sprints at wethersfield in essex (MOD base)

for hillclimbs i think the nearest is prbably prescott or shelsly, but they are over near the border of wales, but well worth the trip if you've never been, and just make weekend of it.

Various sprint venues in Essex, and a few sprints at MIRA, Silverstone etc.

good point, norfolk is flatter than a female marathon runners chest.

ive heard of the north weald one, didnt know hethal ran some. will have to give them a look into.

just a word of caution if you are using a single seater or very light car, north weald is quite bumpy!...but on the plus side, i think during the season, there's just about one a month there, with varios clubs running them.

Seriously though, went to North Weald to watch the Sprint guys and wow....what fun....makes you want to climb in a car immediately and have a go....

There aren't that many - if you want to do a championship I know of someone who did one with a London club. I do a national championship - means I get to go to some of my favourites - Prescott, Goodwood, Gurston, Lydden, Loton and Wiscombe (all miles and miles and miles away sadly). I think Prescott is the closest hillclimb that we do.
