strange noise from engine

Was talking to a friend who has a cerbie and he is getting a strange flapping noise from under the Cerbera's bonnet, any thoughts

Could be anything, has he checked that nothing obvious is physically loose, like the air intakes or the purple hoses etc.

you sure its not just the bonnet or battery cover rattling?

Probably the bonnet release rod flapping against the bulkhead.. The plastic clips break from heat corrosion and then the rod flaps about when going over bumps / general driving.

It's the rod that retracts both bonnet pins. you should be able to see it under at the top just under the windscreen (even with the engine cover on)

They're only a few pence each.
