Anyone remember that piece on News 24 a while back by Sangita Myska? It only covered the "speed kills" side of road safety. Naturally, I complained, it's taken six weeks to get a reply, but here it is...

BBC said:
Dear Mr XXXXXX

Thank you for your e-mail regarding BBC News 24. May I start by
apologising for the delay in replying. We know our correspondents expect a
swift response and I am sorry that you have had to wait so long on this
occasion.

I appreciate you hold strong feelings on the issue of speeding and I can
assure you the BBC would have no wish to mislead the public on the subject.

Sangita Myska's report on 5 November hoped to look behind the statistics at
the human cost of road traffic accidents. This seemed particularly
poignant given the death of Abigail Craen the previous week. It was not
intended as an in-depth discussion on the issues you raise.

In our wider output we have heard from motoring groups and various
organisations who disagree with the Government's approach to speeding and
the use of, for instance, speed cameras.

However, I am sorry if you were concerned with this specific piece and I
can assure you that your comments have been registered and added to our
daily log which is made available to programme makers and senior editorial
staff

Thank you again for contacting the BBC.

Yours sincerely

It sounds like the old locked filing cabinet, in the basement, with no lights and a 'beware of the Leopard' sign on it trick.
