I never thought I would possibly want vinyl stripes on my S2 Exige.... but after seeing the GT3 S2 Exige, I can't stop thinking about having the same stripes done on my Black Exige.
The thing is I really, really like the complete black look of my car (like a mini batmobile ).
I also really like the look of the yellow and silver stripes on the new GT3 Exige.

Question 1:- Do vinyl stickers damage the paintwork if one day you take them off?

Question 2:- Do you think car with stripes look chavy and cheap?

Question 3:- Please vote...Should I have them done? YES or NO?

Help me decide please.

If it looks half as good as the one in the picture then I would say yes, do it.

1= Vinyl stripe stickers do no harm to your car, anf they can easely being taken of with a hairdryer(though not to long and to hot on the same spot ofcorse) and vinyl can handle some stone chips but only when you have lets say a non metallic red paint and you let the vinyl some years one in the sun and later take them off you can get collor difference.

2=I don't think a elise with some desent stripes look cheap, it looks more racy style and on a elise/exige its aloud and the one on the picture looks great, only maybe when you try to sell the car on a "older" person in some cases it can loose some valleu?

3=I like a black metallic Elise/Exige the most with nothing on it, a bit mystirious looking dark Batt out of hell...but I also must say I like those looks of that GT3 picture very much, and when you put yours and this one next to eachother I guess the GT3 look gets the most looks and attention...My heart says those GT3 looks!, but my mind says the Batt looks

The GT3 is the more sporty! and the Batt more distingquist?

1. No
2. Looks good and often better
3. Do it but I personnally find that yellow too flashy. I believe this is not the "real" Lotus yellow ("Mustard yellow" I do like also the exige with one line orange and the other yellow presented at a meeting 1 (?) year ago (Genova?) Have no pics of it but looked very good.

I think that as long as you are prepared to pay for them and rip them off in 6 months when your bored of them - then go for it.

I think that black is the meanest looking color you can get, and that the cream with green stripes looks great, but not mean.

IMO leave it well alone for now, and maybe do it in 6 months, a year when you are bored of the plain mean black beauty.

I though that it can harm the paint, as the vinyl is cut whilst it's on the car?

Obviously the scratches would be minimal if done by a professional, but I though unavoidable?

The vinyl is already in shape and cut before its on the car! there are many aftermarket tuning markets where you can by a lot of collors and wide's and lenghts, so no problem, maybe only the ends have to be shortened, but that you can do carefull or with scissors..

Speak to Rick of Vinyl Creations on SELOC (Used to be Rick111S until he bought a Tuscan) - he's done Viper stripes on a few cars and can advise you on what to go for. Plus he's based in Kent so not too far away.

Rick was talking me into getting Vipers on mine a while ago, Red with silver pin either side. I was hesitant at the time and decided against it, but I'm having second thoughts again having seen this. Looks supberb
