Title says it really, my son wants an MP3 player any recomendations? is it best to get the Ipod or is it overpriced?, is there any significant difference in sound quality/ease of use between different makes?, can I load any MP3 track from a PC on them - I have an MP3 player in the car and my phone so have plenty of MP3 music to use etc.

Any advice would be welcome, thanks.

iPod all the way Together with the excellent iTunes it really is the best, and if a present for your son it won't do his street cred any harm either. Will work with your MP3's no problem.

If he is into 'fashion accessories' go for the iPod if he wants quality sound go for the Sony HD5

Thanks for the replies, both the Ipod & Sony look great but was looking for a less expensive version if poss, budget of about £80 - £100.

What about an iRiver?
The OH has an iRiver H10 which is pretty cool, but a little more than you wanted to spend (although I suspect if you take a trip down Tottenham Court Rd, you'd find it at a good price )

The T30 looks pretty good? 1GB, £93.94 from Amazon

Choose a Creative one, then get onto e-bay and bag yourself a bargain
