996 Cab hardtop leak
Discussion
My hardtop leaks slightly and I think it's getting in the front seal and then dripping at the top of the window. It's not a lot of water, but it's still annoying as the soft top is watertight
Looking at the latch, it seems non adjustable, is that right? I was planning to run some silicon spray along the front edge to swell it up a bit. Any tales of woe or words of caution before I do?

I have had this problem on my hardtop as well and it has been at the OPC several times for sorting this out. You can adjust the "fit" by changing the bolts in the rear which the OPC has done but unfortunately it has not helped a bit. Furthermore it squeaks a lot even after i put silicone on the seals. The OPC said that they could not make it better and I just had to accept it. This winter I have dropped the hardtop as it is useless and the canvas roof is fine even in wintery conditions. Apparently Porsche have regretted delivering this as standard equipment on the 996 and according to the OPC they have more than 50 hardtops stored for customers who have simply dumped them.
