Hi everyone!!

Just back from looking at a beautifuln Tuscan, its a 2000 with full rebuild, new clutch, new alternator, 18 inch spiders, viper blue etc ETC!! Have a deposit down pending its service/inspection on wednesday..........fingers crossed all goes well I will have the beast by friday/saturday!!!!

Have a few questions though,

1) The interior carpets are dark blue, there are parts where the blue has faded (Assuming due to the sun), I have seen this on other Tuscans aswell - is there anyway to sort this without getting the car recarpeted????? How about dying????

2) What ius the difference with the updated interior door inserts?????And does anybody have a rough idea how much???

Thanks for any help, hope to meet some of you at the Essex meets if all goes well!!!

Don't do it mate - dying wouldn't solve anything!

You could try dyeing the carpet instead

Seriously though - if a couple of minor interior niggles is all you've got to worry about........

Welcome in advance to Tuscan ownership

Mark - will be interested to hear the results. I have spoken to several interior specialists and generally carpet is tough to repair/renovate, notably because once the fibres are discoloured or damaged, all the cleaning in the world will not help.

Before you do anything:

1. Drive the car about for at least a month- the cosmetic stuff fades to nothing once you have driven the beast. You may throw up mechanical niggles which are more important to sort than faded carpet- therefore your budegt will be preserved.

If then you are still after a good shag....pile:

2. Replace the offending carpet. No point messing about with dyeing of artificial fibres.

3. Door inserts etc in the Lamonta and the leather shoulder-level runner can be done for about the £100 mark each.

But as before- don't water the horse before you ride it as they say.
