I took Grahambell's indication and parameters on an earlier Kitcar design thread, and decided to work on three different kitcar design projects before deciding on the final.

The idea of using an existing kit chassis available, is the best and fastest way to build a new kitcar.

My first design would be using the existing Jester FWD chassis, and create a little and modern runabout.

Let me know what you think of the design and your feedback:

I could see a modern engine 1000c to 1600ccc, multivalve units.
From european to japanese units.

Hypothetical Price of a complete build for the kit 4000/5000 Pounds.

What do you all think?

Well they all look great, but my personal preferance is the first one. I would definately consider it if it was avaliable for £4,000 / £5,000 dependant on spec.

Love the front end Italo, vast improvement over the Jester which I always thought looked very odd.

Is there any particular reason why the back bodywork is so short? Making it a bit longer would probably allow for a small boot which would add a bit of practicality. Or are you trying to save on material costs?

Would really love to see one of Italo's ideas become reality because it's the sort of modern, original styling the kit car industry is short of.

Yes the idea was to eliminate the boot entirely and create an internal storage behind the seats, or have a little opening behind the roll bars.

It is related to a reduction in manufacturing cost, with a one or two piece fiberglass body bolted to the existing chassis. Idealy I would like it to be it as simple as a dune buggy body .

Keep the comments and ideas coming

cheers

I wanted to add on more thing:

The idea is to make it as simple to build and manufacture as possible, eliminate hinges and openings as much as possible, and simplify the build as a meccano kit.

I hope it works in relity!!!

Looks great, especially in orange! Remember the cut-down Smart Car model called the Blade? Nice idea but you would look daft in it. This however is much more appealing to drivers - like it a lot.

Makes a lot of sense for a low budget kit and is of course the approach Ginetta used for the G20, so there's one example of it working in reality.

Forgot about the Ginetta g20 and still a great looking kit.

The idea is basically to have a fun low budget kit, that can occasionally go to track days, but in reality be more of a weekend runabout, but most importantly it won't break your bank account with the build!!!!!
