The saga continues....its been about a month since a BMW driver pulled out in front of me and then stopped-just managed to pull up in time but put some serious flats on my front tyres. The next morning I got shunted in the rear by a Volvo whilst stationary at the lights spliting the diffuser and wrecking the exhaust. Its taken four weeks to get the parts from Blackpool and was due to go in tomorrow to be fixed-the garage were going to get it all done for Xmas. Now a Range Rover has shunted the back again whilst parking up( he had a full five meters of clear kurb to park alongside and still hit the car) causing major splitting and crazing around the number plate recess.

Rant over

Anyone with experience with this sort of body work problem-it looks like the back section of the car is one piece but that can't be true.

Any advise welcome

I had a Italian Carabinieri drive into the back of me in his Mitsu Shogun in the Alps and cause what sounds like similer damage. Was quite a simple repair, although it was quite a bang when he hit me at around 5-8mph. PM me and I'll send you a pic of the damage mine had.

Personal Message - email me.

He was a nice guy, a bit upset to say the least, especially when he had to call the Police as any accidents need to go through the books. They turned up and gave him lots of stick (I guess the two forces 'compete' a bit) - Everyone was trying to be cool with their shades on. Luckily one spoke some English. We all drove to a cafe in a nearby village and wrote out statements with drinks in the shade - they do things different in Italy.

Of course everyone I'd overtaken in the past 30 minutes then passed us and probably thought I'd been nicked (Cortina to Bolzano road, just past Bolzano actually). Bloody accident wouldn't have happened if I'd passed the van in front of me, but I was just following him and having a rest from the thrashing for a few minutes. Next time...

The moment you start behaving responsibly....

Glad it all turned out well. I was in France this year in the Loire and I was driving along one of the minor roads just away the river when I came around a corner going er....a bit quick, and there they were - two gendarmes in a tiny white van.I slowed to the local 30 popping a bit. They slowed to 20 which I matched ,then they slowed to 15 which I matched, then they really crawled along for a while and then stopped which I did as well-expecting some trouble. Sure enough one of them got out and wandered back taking lots of time writting something in a pad.I wound down the window and he said
"eet is broken?" and handed me the paper upon which he had written the adress and telephone number of the local garage.

nice one, sounds like they wanted you to blast past. I blasted past some Gendarmes last June near Troyes ... except that time they actually wanted to stop me so I could explain how I'd managed to pass about 7-8 cars as I approached them. Oops.

i had of all things a git on a moped ram me at a roundabout, little sh@t had his fingers bound together as he had injured them on a previous accident, so hence he couldn't pull the brake peddle. he must of hit at about 20mph. Damage looked nothing until they spotted a hairline crack across the rear of the car. All repaired ok though.
