Exclusive: Ferrari FXX in frame

Unpublished shots of iconic new racer

Ferrari FXX
Ferrari FXX

PH brings you exclusive photos of the Enzo-derived racer, the Ferrari FXX being unloaded at Mugello Circuit, near Florence -- all still with their protective nose-cone coatings -- presumably for testing for delivery to clients.

It looks to me like they have tried to make an MC12 out of an Enzo, whilst still retaining the same bodyshell. Bloody hideous!

Actually, I prefer to the regular Enzo. Looks sleeker and less awkward.

very much a case of form following function. looks like a batmobile - would be great to see a shoot-out between the fx and the veyron!

Hard to believe that Ferrari can make a car that makes the 'normal' Enzo look coherent (although ugly), but they've done it - Man, that thing's hideous! There are some interesting details, but overall... Phew! The 2005 Pininfarina 'Birdcage' - now that's a car...

The MC12 is (basically) an enzo :P

Not really exclusive pics either, TG mag has a whole feature on it....

Why are relatively heavy exhausts all the way up there?

Hmmm

Must be to do with air flow - exhausts create turbulent air streams, so keeping them off the ground reduces their impact on the aerodynamics.

Not exactly beautiful, is it?
However, it is for racing, so I suppose looks are not that important.

I know, that's why I said it looks like they tried to make one out of an Enzo with the Enzo's body.

Is it just me, or is this whole "programme" the most cynical, pointless, ripoff exercise that any motor manufacturer has devised since the very dawn of motoring?

They`re not even racing it FFS.

Understand where you`re coming from but Porsche aren`t anywhere near yet (although on current track record they may well develop something similarly preposterous soon!).

Looks really good in black. Would be nice to see a shoot out between that the veyron and the big mazzer. would also be good if they could get one round the top gear track with the stig at the wheel so you can see how quick it is incomparison to "normal" stuff.
