Can't get in Boot!

Can't open boot on my '97 4.5 Chimaera. Alarm and door locks work fine so there is no problem with the battery. I press the switch below dash, it makes a clicking noise but boot lid doesn't open.

Any ideas?

This is really worrying as I can drive the car, but will eventually run out of fuel if I can't open the boot to re-fuel!!

First of all get someone to help you!

Get them to prss the boot release button, while you wiggle the boot lid up and down a bit. It might just be a bit sticky!

If that dosen't work drop me a mail.

I assumed it wasn't as you made a post on something.

I got the boot open and it turned out that the problem was with the boot cable. The cable was loose, as the end securing piece had fallen off. I crimped on a new securing piece and it works fine now. A bit fiddly as you only have about a 2inch diameter hole to access the boot unlocking cable. All is hidden behind a fibreglass panel in the boot.
