which is nice.

although the real reason they put down jedi was because they were warned that if you put down the name of a ficticious religion you would be jailed, so 7/1000 people decided to take them up on the offer ;-)

But is Jedi a 'fake' religion, or is it a 'true' one?.

Who decides?

Its fake.

The census commitee has a list of 1000 'approved' religions.

Jedi is not one of them.

So religion by government diktat.

They are great believers in that in China I believe.

If someone genuinely believes in the Jedi religion, then that is their 'true' religion. It is not for the government to tell them they are wrong.

No its not, but its up to the census commision whether or not to include that religion in the approved list and hence reflect it in the census.
