Who has a PDA which is also a phone, and how would you rate it? It would be nice to have emails and outlook express synched on the mobile. Ideally it would have a decent cam in it too Any suggestions

I've found my Sony Ericsson P900 to be excellent. Its obselete now but its replacement looked even better. Only 2.5G though - which suits me fine...

XDA11s is doing very well. More of a PDA with a phone than a PDA and is a little delicate but works briliantly.

I've had the XDA, XDA 2s and now have the XDA mini S. Mini is everything the XDA2s is (including pull out qwerty, WIFI etc), just smaller. Processor doesn't seem to good on it though - slower IMO. Pleased with it though - size is a lot more like a normal phone.

SPV M500 from orange find it fantastic to use, is slightly smaller than most pda's allowing me to use it as a phone but still got good level of functionalilty,
might want to check it has enough on board memory for you i have no probs but some report issues,
have plugged in a 2gig card and it works great for mp3 or back ups of movies for on the train as well.

I've been using an ipaq 6340 (no camera, you'll need the 6365 for that).

Been great, apart from the battery life. I've just unpacked my old P900 and started using that again. It's great.

Depends on what you need the PDA bit to do, basic calendar / email / tasks etc are all do-able on most phones rather than needing a PDA - I use email on my K750i quite easily. However if you are going to use it alot then a better text entry is good, I personally prefer a handwriting type system over T9 / virtual keyboard.

Hope that helps

Had the MDAIII/XDAIIs a total pile of pooh utter waster of time software was totally untested.

Now have the I-mate Jam? or MDA Compact (T-Mobile) much better, no wifi, more like a phone to use some querks but otherwise ok. Still has some stupidities though.

ipaq hw6515 - PocketPC phone edition, not too bad, also has GPS, and runs TT5 quite nicely. Usable with BT headset, can be a slow phone, and is missing some phone features like "Add number to contact" that I personally like. Has camera, but personally have never used (have used light for flash as a torch though..)
02 XDA Exec - swivelly mini laptop with Windows Mobile 5. Still trialling, but looks like a PITA at this stage, due to the phone not really being up to its job, in terms of pick up and use functions, rather than the dial contact type advanced stuff.

Overall, getting there.. 7/10, Bill. Hire some Nokia OS designers, and LISTEN to them.

I have had a SonyEricsson P800, P900 and now P910 more 'phone like than other pda/'phone options which seem to be more PDA like with a clunkier phone interface. I am looking to get the 3G version, which is out soon, next.

Hmmm, thinking of getting something similar myself

I assume all these do blue tooth as I'll need to be hands free a lot of the time

Most if not all phones currently have bluetooth.

Had a play with an XDA Exec this morning.

Top toy!

£150 on a £19 per month contract.

Orange, handly owe me £150 so not only will they be losing the business, they'll be subsidising it too.

Hurrah!

There is only one really good phone/PDA and that is the Treo 650 streets ahead of the rest. http://euro.palm.com/uk/

I have most of the others on the market and the Treo 650 wins again and again.

I've got a P900 aswell... but try waiting for the next one after the P910i, which will be here next year, quite early on I think February. It's the P990 and it looks excellent, a lot of features too, but it'll be a bit expensive when it is first released unless on contract!!

I'm looking at buying one of these - would getting it going be as simple as plugging in the sim card from my O2 mobile, or am I missing something?

A bit of a thread hi-jack but I thought this might interest people who own I-mate jams etc. The patch enables the A2DP protocol on your Jam so you can have wireless audio to your bluetooth head set (if it supports the A2DP protocol).

Quality is quite good.
