just wondered with the t350c on its way if you'd have bought a tiv if it was a hardtop and not a convertable? would you have bought something else? (not including the cerbera)
ie. would you buy a griff if it wasn't topless
silly question i know but what the hell

No. Getting the lid off is a significant part of the TVR/sportscar experience, IMHO.

Not sure weather i would of brought one with a roof, where would the leaks come from

Personally IMO i think an S, GRiffith and Chimeara woukld look Pants with a hard top.

See Zertecs site for a sketch of a griffith with Hardtop.

well the idea of a removable hard top for the winter is a great one. the zertec one doesn't look too bad but it is only sketches (has been for a while) anychance of seeing the real thing.

probably not ... if the roof didn't come off, I'd have wanted much more refinement to compensate, i.e. less wind noise so stereo could be heard, good aircon, that kind of thing.

That fact that the lid comes off makes these things redundant

I think i'd have bought my chimaera if it had a fixed roof. Not really fussed about open top motoring... i bought the car because of its performance, sound and overall experience/feel. It'd be just like a cerbera with correct proportions

Surely soft top Tiving is part of the experience/feel??

'i bought the car because of its performance, sound and overall experience/feel.'

But the sound is twice as good with the roof off!

The fact that the roof comes off is a bonus for me. I bought the car for the handling, looks and most important, performance.
Hood down in appropriate weather is great, but I still love every minute driving it this time of year.
My first ever experience driving something quite quick was many years ago when my boss let me have his company 325i convertible for the weekend. I got over the novelty in those 2 days, and when a few months later I was able to borrow a regular 325i I didn't miss the open air.

well, i've been driving with the roof on these days and the windows down, and to be honest i'm not that bothered about the roof being up. while it's nice to have the roof off in summer, I'm not too fussed, which made me think earlier this summer that it wouldn't be a problem to have a hard top, esp if it makes the roof more tidy

I bought my 3000M because it had a roof (still leaks though...), don't really like convertibles.

Looks like a Cerbera next then.

No doubt about it - my chimaera goes much better with the roof panel in the boot

Ergo, I wouldn't have bought a chimaera if it didn't have a roof!

Probably not. I thought about a Cerbie, but really didn't get too serious about it for several reasons.. one of them being that the top won't come down.

That said.. just how many nice days have we had during the past year that I could put down the hood????
