GT3 start up

A quick question on engine start up noises on the GT3 - just wanted to check with other owners if they'd experienced the same - will certainly get the car checked but always find it helps to tap in the P'her's collective first!

My Mk2 is 26,000 miles, Manthey remap etc, and serviced very regularly thanks to its mainly track diet.

I am used to the start up death rattle, whilst the hydraulic tappets get up to pressure. That usually passes in 2-3 seconds. However, I am now hearing a slower "knocking" sound which lasts perhaps 10 seconds. Not something I've heard before. Its frequency is about 2 hertz I would guess.

Mine does the death rattle for sure, also have manthey kit.

After that though, just goes on to normal cold tick over
then slows down a bit after a minute or two of warming up.

Get it checked mate.

If its something internal my guess is that thats a piston slap or knocking con-rod... Which is not good specially a GT3 or Turbo engine but lets hope its something external.
