34% of Scottish 12 year olds are overweight according to a health survey.

This compares to only 15% for the UK as a whole.

Lay off the deep fried mars bars! Mayeb we should invest into tartan cloth - they will need an awful lot of it to wrap around their lardy
bottoms soon

puts on crash hat and awaits jocular response

I'm suprised and genuinely saddened that the Welsh have been overtaken in the fattie stakes by the Scots of all people!

Yet strangely, the only people I have ever seen eating a deep fried mars bar in my life are tourists and English people up visiting. Must be all the deep fried haggis we eat instead (which is very nice indeed).

Indeed, they're too tight to turn on the central heating

Well, watching the news yesterday, the warmest place in the UK was in Scotland, and there was a survey showing the Scots were among the most generous in the UK (in terms of giving to charity), with the Welsh coming in last, which makes the timing of this thread quite ironic.

I think the problem with 12-year old kids in Scotland is that they haven't had Jamie "Special Needs" Oliver up to sort out their school dinners yet. That would solve the problem straight away. Or we could get Gordon Ramsay to do it, although maybe not in certain parts of Glasgow.
