Police help community

THAMES Valley Police spent almost £1 million on community safety measures last year.
More than £335,000 of this was set aside to be allocated by the area commanders of each of the ten police areas in their own patches.
Chiltern Vale got £32,000 and spent the cash on projects including community alarms, a mediation service, an anti-racial hatred poster campaign, a project on underage sales, a patients' guide for Wycombe Hospital, Wycombe Rape Crisis, the Asian fair, research by Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College into anti-social behaviour, links with the ethnic minority community and Bucks Youth at Risk.

What's the problem? Am I missing something?
£1m is a tiny proportion of their budget and if it helps people feel safer in their communities, then all well and good. Of course it doesn't catch the scrotes, but if they want the help and support of the public, they have to play the PR game.
