Chargecooler? etc

Hi All,

After a couple of months wavering on whether to sell the 2.5 or not, have finally decided to keep it and have started to lavish a few small treats. Decided it would be quite good to be able to see the road this winter and installed some PIAA 55w draw 100w output H4's and replaced yet another lense cracked by yet another N.Yorks kamikazee starling (does anyone else find feathered variety of birds don't seem to notice car coming?)

After my sprint car recently turned itself into a mobile barbecue, began looking at cooling options and have had long discussions on the subject. Mentioned I had a Noble and the company have a chargecooler which would be suitable for Nobles

Asked Dave to describe the details as I'm still not that technically minded

"There is the choice of various size kits, 4" diameter, 6,8 and 10" long, (the longer the more cooling capacity). The section of boost tube on the left hand side of the bay, could be cut and the chargecooler inserted. Both systems can work simultaneously with water to air cooling having a heat transfer rate 4 times higher than air-to air.

The kits come with 9" fans, 10" square pre-rad for water cooling, which could be mounted below the main front clam-shell area, and high flow 12v pump and billet aluminium filler head. The only parts required are the hosing to connect the kit up, as length depends on placement of chargecooler/rad etc...

All units are fully pressure tested and because are straight through designs have an extremely low pressure drop from inlet to outlet."

For the same money buy Matts IC upgrade and not have the bother of having to squeeze all that extra stuff into your car, plumb it in and then still only be a guinea pig for them. Its all added weight, complexity and no doubt cost as they quote intercoolers "from" £795.

Paul, It was the liquid to air chargecooler I was thinking of rather than the I/C, sorry, didn't make it that clear in my post as still excited at being able to drive in the dark!

Liquid to air take longer to get hot but once they are warm will take an age to cool down, they only delay heat soak, Matt's IC actually gets rid of it.

Sorry it was my misstyping, I knew you were talking chargecoolers, the comments apply to the chargecooler. Its not worth the effort when a far simpler, cheaper and ultimately better option is available.

Simple question - how many owners have upgraded their IC (50 or more) and how many have fitted chargecoolers (as far as I know 0)?

I had a look at chargecoolers, but I came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the extra plumbing and weight. Especially as Matt's IC sorts it 100%.
