Hi everyone,
I have just installed a second-hand hard drive onto my home PC, which I would like to run indows 98 on it (my normal, C drive is 20mb and runs windows 2000).
On start up, the machine goes into the Windows 2000 mode, as normal. On windows explorer, I can see new E and F drives: The E is called MSDOS_6, the F is called To_LOAD and has win95 on it. (remember its a second hand drive)
My question is this: how do I set up the machine so I can access this new hard drive??
Any ideas??

Do you mean 20 gig?
If you can see the drive letter in explorer, haven't you already accessed the HD? What happens when you click on it in "my computer"?
Do you mean you want to boot the system to the new hard drive with ms dos or win95? If its a second drive then its likely to be set up as a slave with your first drive as the master. In which case you'd have to go into the bios and change the boot drive to the slave - something like that anyway, I did it once and can't quite remember.
For multi O/S installation you may want to use the GRUB bootloader.

You need to go into the administrative tools in Windows 2000 and select Computer Management. If you can't see the administrative tools then right click on the task bar and select properties. Click on the advanced tab and tick display administrative tools.
Once in the Computer management screen select storage and disk management. You should see your new disk. If it does not have a drive letter assigned to it then you can right click on the new disk to format / assign drive letter etc....
Please make sure that you click on the new disk and do not do anything to your current one!
