53,200 fault free miles
Discussion
just had a quick look on auto trader and saw this, if true surely got to worth snapping up as problems would been ironed out by now. esspecialy at £18k. Not mine btw just wonder what you lot think about high millage cars? My cerby had 42k on the clock when i sold but was still an awsome car in imaculate condition, and I felt it was better for it as any problems were generaly sorted before they became serious. Any thoughts?
I also saw this Tuscan. 53,000 miles without a single fault?
Hmm. In writing adverts 'salesmans puff' is generally exempt from misrepresentation rules, however this is making a statement of fact. I really cannot believe that a standard Tuscan has run for 53,000 miles on the same suspension, alternator, radiator, etc also without having to replace the clutch at around 20k because the fingers have fractured. I wont even mention the engine rebuild factor.
I may be wrong, but in this situation, let the buyer beware!

Probably just a typo, should've read 5,300 miles ![]()
Even then, not a single fault sounds very unlikely.
Hey, you disbeliever. Go wash your mouth out with brake fluid(or listerine, which ever is to hand)
Just to show a Tuscan can go 5300miles without fault.... I bought mine 2nd hand with 6400miles
on clock. It had not been back to the dealer (apart from 1k service) since collection. It has now done 10k and still without fault other than tune up. Course it'll probably blow up tomo now i've said that!
53000, now that does take some believing!!
Dont get me wrong (ive owned a tiv) I know fault free is an unrealistic if not impossible claim but its still done 53,000 miles! doubt the vendor would exagerate that, the point is do you think its better or worse than a car thats done 12,000. . Most people selling an s6 would be braging the fact it'd had a rebuild done at xxxxx miles. maybe it hasn't, maybe it has, but if it's still here 50,000 miles and five years later someone has had a lot of fun in it, makes me think sod the scare mongers at that money i'm tempted to have a look.

Make sure you have a careful look but I have to say that in my years of TVR ownership (2 x Wedges, Chimaera, Cerb and Tuscan S) I have only ever had a fan thermostat swx break, a faulty speedo sender and a sticky brake calliper. The Chimaera and Wedges were driven daily as was the Cerb initially before moving house.

There is a gts viper blue tuscan in the classifields 2000 model 30000 miles, rebuild, and only £16995. must be worth a look .
Maybe fault free miles means just "wear and tear" and niggly
tvr problems! Without wishing to tempt fate I've had my 2001 tuscan for nearly 2 years and I'm shortly approaching the 36k mile service (not 53k I know). It had the engine rebuild at 9k and the clutch replaced at 20k, other than that it has only ever been in for services, 1 temperature sensor and a speedo sensor. As my only car it does get alot of use and time and time again the dealers tell me that my car is in such good running order because of the regular use (or are they just trying to keep me happy!) My main worry is for future re-sale how much the high miles would de-value the car which has really done nothing wrong on 15,000 miles per year for the last 2. How do other high miler Tuscan owners get on?

I took delivery of my Tuscan RR in October, 2000. I guess it has done something around 50,000 miles - I don't know for sure as I have had so many faulty speedo transducers I've lost count (and lost a fair few miles as well!). Recorded mileage is 44,000.
I've had two full engine rebuilds (the second in October/November, 2003, about 20,000 miles ago) and one top-end rebuild. I'm on my fourth (or is it fifth?) clutch (the repetitively breaking fingers) and third set of dampers. I can't remember how many wheels I have had to replace due to their propensity to buckle but it must be getting close to double figures. Although I think I've only actually replaced both sides of the exhaust once, I think I've had to have the rear cans welded back on twice both sides.
Otherwise just the standard niggles.
I expect to keep the car for about another 3 years (when I guess it will have done over 80,000 miles).

I've got this great broom that I've had for years, after 6 new heads and 4 new stails it's still in fine shape... a cracking broom!
The 18k 53,000 mile car is way too dear. I reckon 12k is the mark for that car, complete with a new broom.

That's one damn fine broom sir! Did you get it off the boy Potter!
Not sure about 53K fault free - seems an awful lot! Mine's on 28K and can be quite simly described as the bionic car.....'we have the technology to rebuild it....'

For a minute then I thought you were going to say it had cost you $6 million... 'she's breaking up, she's breaking up'
