Whats the point? It'll cost lots of money to state the bleeding obvious.

Why does every disaster need a public enquiry; which is little more than a gravy train for lawyers?

Facts already known to the public (e.g. bombers come from yorkshire, were unhappy with iraq, blew themselves up, etc, etc)

I think the inquiry into Tony Blairs reasons for going to Iraq has completely destroyed the publics trust in inquiries anyway.

What exactly does an inquiry achieve? squat.

Often they end up having to have an enquiry into the the inquiry, all a waste of time. The media would complain if there was an inquiry just as they complain if there is one, thats just what they do.

The media love enquiries, they can fill their news schedules for weeks.

I don't see how it will help in this case though.

I think the fishy thing is that Nu Labia have been calling enquiries into any and every thing since they got into power.

Therefore, why are they not screaming for one about the 7/7 bombings (which was a pretty major event, by anyone's measure.)
