Spotted Aston AMV8
Discussion
Normally I don’t like these “spotted” threads but I am happy to be a hypocrite.
Had my first sighting in the flesh of a very dark metallic AMV8 in Newbury town centre and I have a couple of observations to share with you Porsche fans.
(1) It is simply stunning to look at
(2) It is a lot smaller than I thought and visibility out will be a pig
If it is a good to drive as Tiff Neadel says then Porsche are finally in for a run for their money. However for £80K+ ???!?! The looks were simply stunning, a superbly judged combination of movement, purpose and grace. Makes Porsches look like bat mobiles.

I have had the privilege of being in one of these at "full chat" and they sound awesome. However, I felt he car was not as planted on the road as I would have expected and that at £80,000 plus options
it was not worth the money as a sports car. The guy driving (AM's top research driver) really knew his stuff and all about how the car was going to react to his input. But, I felt that it wasn't going to be the car that potential owners were promised when it was announced a few years back.
Overall the car is going to appeal more to those who like badge snobbery than people who know how to drive and are expecting the feedback of a pure sports car....IMHO
