My TVR T350T (04 reg) costs about £1k per year for warranty, about £1k per year for ins, and about £1.5-2k per year for service and maintenence.

Oh, and it will drop 50% depreciation in 36 months.

How does this £3-4k per year bill stack up against a £50k F355?

All advice on typical running costs welcome.

Do it.

I went from TVR's (still have a Sag however), to a 355 as an intro to Fcars, and it cost a helluva lot less to run than any TVR I've owned.

You pay more for it initially, but the overall costs are lower. (in my experience)

i guess they are similar, speed-wise. However I have a perception that running a Ferrari would be more

So you spending less than £4k per year running a 355? I guess i run about 5k miles per year.

IMO if you get a good 355 with a recent belt service and a fresh pair of manifolds I can see it costing less than your current budget. Factor in some more gentle depreciation and financially it could be a winner.

In the year that I had it, I didn't spend a penny on it other than a service. durability wise, my current 360 feels indestructable compared to my TVR's.

I'm sure I'll get hit for something at some point, but I've had nothing but goo experiences so far.

You will miss the grunt of the TVR though. Even the 360 gets seriously shown up by the Sagaris... (until you get to the twisties...)

i have a lotus for the twisties!

So is there much neg on price when buying at a dealer i.e could you expect to pick up a £55k 355 for closer to £50k?

This time of the year is probably the best time to ask.

Well the answer to that one is to ring F car dealers and ask what they would offer you for such a car! When i sold mine 12K was added to the price and it was mint with new clutch tyres ect.

And thats the problem with Ferrari because the values are held superficially high by the dealers but when you come to sell your car- OH dear.

Bear in mind also that miles make a huge difference to value- so if you intend to use it factor in depreciation as high as a tvr if not more.

To give you an idea trade is bidding 47K for a mint 99 car berlinetta

Either the Xmas/New Year period or at the end of their accounting year would be the best times... so I'd give it a damned good go at getting a deal now.
