Id go for the 2002 5k car personally, these aint the type of cars that have a hard life, both cars have probably been stored in a garage all their lives, neither have been driven much in the wet and niether have been really thrashed. However the 2004 might have been driven hard 4 times to the 2004's one.

Depends on what the 'same' price is.

Generally, I would say buy the latest model you can afford.

Get a warranty & drive around care-free.

That's a bit of a tough one isn't it? The 2002 has hardly been used, I will have done that many miles in my Sagaris by the time it gets a year old and I don't feel I've used it nearly as much as I'd have liked. Cars can suffer from lack of use too so it's not always a good thing. On the flip side 20k since 2004 sounds like quite a lot but that must mean it's a reliable car or it would not have been on the road to clock up the miles.

Overall though I'd let colour and condition decide. Both will need good warranties anyway. If you're planning to do lots of miles I'd probably go for the older car in the event of a tie. A high mileage added to the 20k could make it harder to sell on.

Either way there's much fun in store for you in '06 in a Tam. Enjoy.

Thanks for your input guys. I only did around 7k a year in my porker, so i'll say it'll be the same with the Tam.

The older one with less miles does look tempting, and a nice price.

Thanks again, James.
