TVR Personal Possessions Lytham St Annes BOGUS COMPANY?

Hi there

PHrs.Can anyone help? Has anyone had any dealings with TVR Personal Possessions (Avondale International Limited)?

It all looks legitimate,TVR logos etc.We ordered a scale personal model of my Chimaera with number plate etc end of August this year with a 10 weekish delivery,still nothing has arrived and no matter how many phone calls,faxes,emails we send or make,we can't get any reply from this firm.

I already have got the Blackpool factory involved,as they did know of the firm,but said they were no longer linked with them.This model has cost £120 nearly and the money has gone out of our account.

Has anybody had any dealings with them? If so what is your experience? Does anybody have a good way of contacting them?

Any help much needed.....!!!

It sounds like the TVR section of the title is part of their trading name.

You can find the address of the parent company from companies house www.companieshouse.gov.uk I think is the address. Do a search for the details on the site.

A strongly worded letter to the registered office of the company should do the job. The name of the Directors will also be on the search.

If you send the letter by recorded delivery you will also have proof of delivery. Warn that if you are not contacted about your money/product within seven days you will assume that they are continuing to avoid your contact and will proceed with immediate legal action.

If it gets that far, starting a claim on Money Claim Online is easy enough, and has about a 90odd % success rate of sorting things before any action at court takes place.

Never used them, and happy to stand corrected, but I was under the impression this business was run by some relative of Peter Wheeler - brother/brother in law/nephew/whatever.

Maybe they're being run by some Russian's brother now

Yeah they have shut down... Obviously not before your order date... there must be some way of getting your cash back though if you ahve receipts of order etc.
They were an official company but a real to contact anyone who works there..

You might have some redress if you've paid by credit card.

If you've paid by debit card, I wouldn't hold out to much hope.

Had same problem, order 2 baseball caps 2/3 months ago, only wanted one cap! Had to buy 2 mininium order etc. However, my credit card WASN'T charged. I was told the company was owned by Peter Wheeler's brother or brother in law. Look back a couple of months under the S series forum.
Guess he's done a runner to Portugal. - Good Luck. Why doesn't SOMEONE take the web site OFF???

Ordered a few things from them in the past (key fob and watch) and they took months to arrive, despite numerous calls and nagging e-mails, so if they have gone under its probably no bad thing to be honest.

posted something about this the other day, i obviousley did'nt use a a very good thread title, no body replied so i asumed it was something to do with the nameing and shameing polocy,,,,,
you will be just as pi##ed as my other half who orderd something in the middle of october for my birthday in the middle of november.
The money £100.00 was taken out of her account at the end of october.
she has been trying to get hold of them for the last three weeks by email or phone to no availe, only to find out this week on the web page that the company is now closed,she too followed the link to TVR and phoned the factory, for them to tell her that they are no longer associated with the factory.
Also if you have a look at the parent company Avandale international they are no longer trading
Unfortounatley she paid by debut card.
so she won't stand much chance of getting her money back.
The recorded letter at the moment is the only way we can go

As far as I'm aware SMTS are the only company making the Chim models and have done so for the TVRCC aswell as the factory. The model was probably made by the to your spec and then sent through Personal Possessions. You could try contacting them and see if they can shed any light. They are a small company and very helpful so you might get a result.
