The best of it is i can seriously see tvr going down this route in the not so far away future, if you look at the response what people are saying about jons car!! i feel alot of tiv die hard people would be reluctant to swap an engine that tvr had built, but lets be brutally honest if tvr concentrated on building a very nice car and dropping one of these engines in them would people complain?? they used rovers for like centurys!! and what a true sports car it would make i would buy one!!

It's solves the engine reliability bugbear at a stroke - all they then need to do is change the 'window drop' design to something more reliable then we would be looking at a car that could replace Toyota at the top of the JD power league (day dreaming again..)

Not being funny John but why would they want to see it? Only thing I can think of is that a converted tiff could be worth £20k maximum whereas there car will be £50k.
I worked on the TSO and on the whole it's a nice piece of kit. They aren't going to gain anything from your project that I can think of? Maybe they just want to give you a darned good spanking

I built a rover last week. An absolute delight to work on compared to the chevy's. Very simple to assemble, made a refreshing change!
As for the ls6, he he, it's all good information to share. Did anybody freeze the tv pics so we could see all the PH culprits in the background. I was watching closely but didn't recognise anybody. We should have PH hats or jackets for events like this.

Mike,I think Jon and myself+our better halfs where the only ones there,I was told I had been picked out of 20,000 for 4 tickets!,we had a fantastic time and Clarkson was a blast! constantly taking the piss out of the Hampster .
Not many people recognized me as I have grown a beard !,my wife was chosen to stand behind Mansel along with 2 other girls(which she was very happy with as she is the same age as JC)you can see her on the repeat Tuesday,when Mansel moves his head you will see her!To qoute JC "We don't want any mingers on the show as it goes out world wide to 1 billon people!.I'am in quite a few shots ,I've got my topgun jacket on (pic of me standing behind the Bugati on the TG website.

It sounds like a hoot and tickets must be prized. I like the new format and I like the presenters. Hammy's getting stick but that's part of the marketing, all good fun though! I'll watch the repeat and look out for you

Can't see that price of car has anything to do with it. I have never understood all this devaluing of car stuff. If you by a Sag / TSO or whatever driven it moderately, in two - three years it is worth half what you paid for it. All the parts are still there and really not many bits wear out if garaged and you have a reliable engine / transmission - even in an engine - not that many bits truly wear out fully unless you are talking huge mileages.
I'd rather get something that has taken it initial depreciation on and then have some fun making it go faster for alot lees than buying some thing new at the same price but that is just me - I keep cars a LONG time. Interesting to see how exhausts and gearbox bits are different. Looking at TG vid I think a Chim (seem wider more down on the road than TSO) with stiffer suspension would blitz the TSO lap. My brake balance is not perfect (on a track - well not with std springs!) but no where near as bad as the TSO on the track. I need larger rear discs. Do you know where they got there engines mapped or just a Vette programme as it is the std Chevy PCM I presume.
So I think the Chim or any other TVR with and LS2, 2 or 7 in for that matter would be the one handing out the Spanking!
On the issue of cost I know that Chevtrev has spent over what it would take to buy a new Sag on his (no expense Chim LS racer) and I have spent getting on for min 30's on mine since buying it alot less than two years back. Not gonna sell it so who cares - but if I was it woul be for a heck of alot more than 20k.
It will just get faster and faster and more trick. Same with all my cars. Girlfriends does not really know how modded her Mini is!
But then I would never but a Ferrari when I win the lotto - a Full House Race DB4

This is really one for boosted but i can be bothered to start a new thread!! out of interest and please ignore my ignorance on this but why is there so much hipe about the ls range of engines? what i mean is i have a 70 and a half z28 camaro thats my pride and joy and that was making 400 bhp in 1970, ok it is iron and probably meet imisions of todays cars but it drives like a pussy cat with a holley 600 on it and it amazes me that nearly 40 years on there struggling to better that performance from the factory??

I can't really be arsed either. Told everybody about them years ago. Basically it's an all new design, everythings been improved and changed apart from the rod shells and all the luverly pukka bits are standard issue
