Well what a fun day. I traveled 70 miles for a meeting and then on leave the carpark in Tonbridge the gear lever comes out of its bottom joint. 4 hours latter and I have been delivered home on the back of flatbed with the car stuck in second gear. What makes me angry beyond the use of cheap parts is that the OPC in Tonbridge would not touch the car as it was 4.15pm. Why is it that makes two trips on a flatbed, taxi and free hire car cheaper than getting the poor soles in the OPC center to work an extra half hour to refit the gear lever in its ball joint!

I am MAD and especially so as I bought the 996tt to replace the Maser as I thought the build quality and service on the Porsche would be better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is ridiculous. A few VMAXs ago, DMS Rob fixed his car in less than an hour when the lever popped out the linkeage.

I told them that and mentioned to the Porsche recovery people that if you bought the tools I would do it myself!
