Music suggestions??

[BCA]

Anyone got any suggestions of music, would like some vaguely cheerful stuff (nothing too poppy) - im "allegedly" able to download more or less anything atm due to my uni network but going back home for xmas tomorrow!! So really need to stock up!

Im pretty open minded when it comes to music and im needing some new types of music to associate with this time in my life (come out of depression, starting to re-grasp this world and all the wonders within) so looking for uplifting/inspirational stuff.

Thanks in advance,
Ben CA

Mylo.
Top class album - get the green version of the album not the pink one - there's more tracks.

I put together a happy happy joy joy compilation CD for someone recently - here's some of what was on it (what I can remember of it):

Pressure Drop - Toots & The Maytals
Heroes - David Bowie
The Magic Number - De La Soul
A Life Less Ordinary - Ash
Chemistry - Semisonic
Pick Up Lines - Ugly Duckling
Miss Parker - M. Organ
Mr E's Beautiful Blues - Eels
205 - E. T. Mensah
Broken Hearts Are For Assholes - Frank Zappa (because she'd been dumped, and I'm sensitive like that)

There's a band called Mew who aren't bad, sort of a more up beat coldplay/radiohead/sigur ros style. Their first album Friengers has a few great tracks and their second is suposed to be quite good too.

not too poppy eh.

download the entire back catalogues of all these bands.

ACDC,
LEd Zeppelin,
Rolling Stones,
Cream.

Then also download the back catalogues of the following

Underworld,
Leftfield (just get leftism and anything earlier)
FSOL (9including amorphos androgeynous)
4Hero (including all the early stuff)

And anything by the flying burrito brothers - cos they rock too.

Should be a good musical education from both ends of the 'not too poppy' spectrum

I like the new Bon Jovi album, and the new Nickleback Album 'All the Right Reasons" is brilliant too. They're both cheerfull

Cheers,
Rob.
