We've got four kids, and for the last few weeks the younger two seem to be always arguing - about this, that and the other. Our older kids never argued, so it's something new for us to deal with. The "arguers" in question are seven and ten year old girls. We've tried: reasoning, separating, punishing, rewarding, talking, etc.. etc..

We're now wondering whether we should just ignore the problem. It's a conundrum!

Just say that if they don't stop you'll send them back to their real parents!

We've got two boys, 7 and 9, and the fights they get into are truly spectacular! The constant bickering would be funny if it wasn't so wearing. They argue about the colour of each other's socks, who farted last etc etc....

If they argue in front of you or it leads to serious violence do something about it, otherwise just ignore them, Kids are always arguing.

Unfortunately all kids do, I have a boy and a girl, 10 nearly 11 and 9, they argue alot about stupid things. Ignore it best you can, but make sure it doesn't get physical so one gets hurt. If it gets too bad, send them to separate rooms till they calm down, or threaten to take something away that they really enjoy doing.

Good luck, you'll need it, after this has stopped puberty kicks in.

PS Worst thing is when they start in the car and your trying to concentrate. I stopped the car and opened both the doors and told them to get out and walk home or shut up. They shut up pretty quickly.

Chloroform for quick relief, crush some valium or other calming substance into their food for long term relief.

Otherwise a decent set of noise cancelling earphones should do the trick if you have some aversion to chemical placation.

Thankfully they've never got violent - they know not to cross that particular line.

You know how it is, one of them discovers a toy they'd not played with for a year and then the other one wants it: "It's my toy, give it to me!". "Well you weren't playing with it so what's the problem?" ....and off they go for half an hour of bickering. Finally, after many warnings, I remove said toy so that neither one can have it. Then, of course, I'm the ogre!

Kids don't you just love em?

I'd tell them to fight to the death and the survivor gets a University education.

Make them share the same bedroom. Arguing is part of learning to be an adult.
