I suppose the benefit of the larger plate at the front is that you feel it rubbing before the front spoiler does!!!!
As I found out manouvering in my poxy carpark at home
You have to watch for the Plod with smaller plate sizes, think people have been given tickets for repeat offences
I have a standard sized plate on my Exige and it has saved my front splitter from getting bashed a few times now - I'm slowly getting used to where I can & can't drive now, it acts as a great warning that you're getting a bit too close to the ground .
It makes the most horrendous noise when it scrapes the ground, but I'd rather hear that than snap off my splitter - I'm just hoping that if I ever do t
t it really hard that the plate will detach itself from the front and not take the whole splitter with it! I don't intend on this happening though if I can help it!!

I don't intend on this happening though if I can help it!! there must not be a front plate at all!! on most cars its in the way of airstreams and sometimes in the way of cooling engine water/oil...and it can give bad CW drag! so bad for emissions... So I say only a back plate and thats it, just like motorbike's have...
That way cars can look much better and airstreams are better too...

As far as i know the law states that you must have 10mm around the letters, which should be standard size and spacing. You must also show the name and post code of the company that made the plates. If you stick to this you can reduce the size of your plate quite a lot all round and still be fully legal. Up yours Plod.
