X -reg Mk1 GT3s - many about??

The MK1 GT3 was just on th ecusp of the X-reg plate. I know there are a few about. Any clever GT3 gurus know if there were many?

My left hooker is on an 'X' - 1st registered in Germany Dec 2000. It's a 2001 model, which had a few extras like electric boot/bonnet release, alcantara roof lining and steel synchros.

Sorry can't help with actual numbers though.

I think that only one UK car was registered as an X and that was owned by a celebrity.

Yes - though I may need to sacrifice the plate and just get the car if I can't find one. There is one on the market at the moment in silver on autotrader bu tit has the 'wrong' seats. Why would anyone want a GT3 without those beautiful bucket seats?

IIRC mine was X reg RHD GT3 Mk1. It was Steve O'Rourke's originally. Went to nice Doctor in Yorkshire about 19 months ago. It had elec releases/alcantara/steel synchros etc.

It was also the only RHD Mk1 in UK in Lapis Blue

Said "nice Doctor's" X reg GT3 is now for sale in our showroom. He changed to a rhd 964 RS Lightweight in Maritime Blue, he decided to try a few track days but felt the GT3 was in too good condition to track. See the GT3 at www.gmundcars.com it's the only Lapis Blue care we have come across.

I dont beieve we should be decrying a retailers asking price on here. However the market will always set the price for any item and a few relevants about MK1 vs MK2.

* MK2 as a whole not hand built in race shop
* MK2 avail in huge numbers
* MK2 was softer and higher riding to facillitate global sales
* MK1 had poorer brakes
* MK1 had less BHP and slightly lower rev ceiling.

I believe that rarity will always help in pricing, so MK1's were made in much smaller numbers, the Lapis Blue car is only RHD one in the UK possibly the world and it was owned from new by a well known Porsche enthusiast. So it may be worth more to one person than another.

I think the car is priced to reflect its interesting ownership history. To be onest, there are cheaper GT3s out there, but not that many from dealers. Private purchases of high value cars can be a bit of a PITA, so I think its a fair proce for a good car in a great colour. Once again though, I will need to sell at least one of the kids....

No - because

1. It is yet another silver car.
2. It is a comfort
3. It has a LARGE carbon pack (all that weight.... probably got heavy rock on all the CD's as well).
4. Mine is the finest.
