Cars LSV have Supercharged (F.A.O Tiler)
Discussion
Following on from Stu's recent topic, in which I made an apparently Extra-Terrestial comment about the no. of LSV S/C Monaro's I thought there was.
Having today booked my HSV in to LSV, I asked Mark.
Here are the figures:
4 x Monaro, one of which is a 6.3lt. (less than I thought)
21 x 4dr HSV (more than I thought)
Also:
2 x Ford Focus (sorry EHRob!)
1 x Golf 4Motion
1 X Honda S2000 (interesting)
12 x BMW's (various models)
So there you have it. I had no idea that there were so many S/C'd 4 drs around. Shame more of the owners don't contribute to this forum.

I forgot to tell Tom, that I have the complete list of all hsv's that have been imported into the uk.
One of the cars that we supercharged was a ute, which is producing in the region of 600 bhp from a 5.7 ls1.
We have also undertaken numerous mods to a host of various makes and models, not just hsv/monaro
I (Mark) have been modifying cars for the last 25 years, not just the hsv holden.
I built a 200 mph cosworth sierra back in 1989, maintained gt prototypes for 3 different teams over 15 years, raced my own alfa for 9 years (prepared by myself).
If any of you have doubts in my ability and require a cv or letters of satisfaction from many of my customers, just ask!
Stop knocking somebody, most of you have never met.
Thanks!

[quote]Stevie, I have no idea of the circumstances that led to Wills problems but it could be that he was attempting to squeeze quite a bit more power from it than the other supercharged HSV's/Holdens.
If only they had know of Stu's armpit beforehand, could have saved months of development!!

And the root cause of the cracked liner ? I was led to beleive that severe detonation could do that on the rather thin LS1 liners.
I've had first hand experience of this. An after market ecu was mapped for engine 1 and subsequently fitted to engine 2 by a third party without re-aligning trigger settings. Timing was probably out by a couple of degrees but not much more. Engine was hammered despite obvious pinking. Big bang, cracked piston, cracked liner and technically a scrap block. Lsx liners and pistons are perfect for stock applications, nice and light etc. Severe detonation for whatever reason will kill them, easily.
Boosted.
