Got a call from the dealer. Car is on truck and due to be delivered today. They have to clean the cosmolean (sp?) off and detail it a bit so looks like I may be able to take posession on Friday

If you will remember, I ordered it on May 31...

My wife has joked that they must have shipped it from England by way of Japan

Hey Mungo, don't you have a new Cupra R due in as well?

Hope you like it. Sat in the rear of one, on a lift to a meeting, a few days ago and thought it was very cramped in the rear and couldn't get my legs in and out through the door without kicking the back of the driver seat and getting trouser legs stuck on something on the door every time. Headrests block forward view too much also.

Hi Tony...

Well, I am getting this car as a daily driver for myself. About the only time the rear will have any occupants is when the kids (3 and 1) come along, so the limited leg room (I agree on that point) should be a non-issue.

My criteria was that I wanted something that had a little more class than the standard Audi, BMW, Merc, etc Sport Sedan. This one fit the bill and was the right price...

...Also, I liked the way the demo car (and it was only the 2.5 sport) drove compared to the others. There was just something about the "feel" of the car that was nicer. Hard to put into words...

My dealer also informed me that my 3.0/5-speed Sport combo is in a very small minority in the States (most people like automatics), so I feel even more exclusive.

Will report back after I have had some road time with it...

Cheers

Well at least its British(sort of) and looks a bit of class on the road. Sorry if I sounded derogitory (must buy a dikshunary) guess it was a bit early in the morning.

Didn't take it as derogatory at all. Rear leg room is certainly important when looking at any sedan. Being British (well at least the heritage) was also important to me. I think that British Marques (all true British Marques - Lotus, TVR, Jag, Rolls, Aston, etc) consistently turn out the best looking and classiest of all cars!

I'm going to drive it for a bit and then maybe hand over a review to Ted should he so desire...

...but after two days I like it a lot!

Cheers
