Right
I have googled until I can google no more. I have found loads of incomprehensible diagrams on how to tie a bow tie but there is no substitute to being shown
So does anyone know where I can find a web video for this?
(I do have a ready tied one as a fall back)

Hoping you can help

Basically you tie the tie as if it was a ribbon bow.
Dead easy when you know how..

All I can suggest is dont think too much about it, just tie it like a shoelace.

Practice round your leg first, then don't stand in front of a mirror to start with, just use the mirror to sort out the mess later....

Hope that helps

Had this problem at BTaP, but I can't remember how we did it, other than we did it on his knee first........

Tie the bow as normal to begin with, then fold the second bit over and you have to somehow thread the looped bit through the 'knot' in the middle.....

I'm sure this came up ages ago.
What I used to do was to wear the ready made one, but keep the proper one in my pocket, then as the evening wore on, people start loosening their ties, you then swap the readymade one for the real one, and everyone assumes you had the real one on all night.
Cheating I know, but nobody used to notice at student balls. Think they might now though.

Muggins posted in a panic one night about 14 months ago! Some very kind people posted up suggestions, recipes, methods and dodges - and the odd link as well....

You were all most kind!

I would tell you how to do it, but I've been to sleep since then....

May I suggest you try a search! Good Luck!

Or do like I did at BTaP, bring a hand tied and a ready tied, stick the ready tied one in my pocket in case of emergencies, fail completely to remember how to tie the proper one, stagger out into the lobby in a drunken haze and have someone elses lovely female guest tie it for me.
