After replacing the front brake pads, I thought I would polish the wheels and clean off the brake dust. I found corrosion on the inner facing rim, not a problem, out came the trusty corrosion removal tools and bingo it is gone. I have given the wheel a coat of black hammerite, does anyone know what the original black paint is or will the hammerite be up to the task ? Check your wheels, you may have some dreaded corrosion on them.

Hi Steve

I have recently had a set of Oz 8 Spokes refurbished - they seem to have been sprayed (front and back) a solid gloss black and then diamond cut. The back of the wheel and the wheel nut holes on the front therefore have the same appearance. Don't know what the black paint is, it just looks like normal paint (raised text on the rims can be read through it?).

I probably would have used Hammerite too.

Will have to give the rear of the wheels a good waxing before they go on the car!

Cheers

Larry
