Stripes on a 111R?

Hi Guys,

I have decided its time to stop overspending on my current car and go back to my favourite marque of Lotus. As I will use it everyday I think an Exige is too hardcore for me so the 111R it has to be. I am going to go for a 06 Spec and order it through Bell at Colvill in Jan as I have bought through them before with 2 MK1 Elises which I loved.

My question is this, do you think Stripes look good on Elises and if so what colour combinations works well? Do people generally go for Viper ones? I am thinking maybe a Graphite car with White or Black viper stripes?

Seriously, stripes look great on Elises I think. Check gooby's profile for a job well done.

For me, graphite with a contrasting grey or black looks fantastic. White somehow doesn't do it for me with grey - looks superb with red & blue but not quite so good on other colours.

Cheers S Works, I agree the 160S is the daddy and am very tempted but do a lot of miles (driving around flogging software.. cossssmic ;-( ) so need my air con etc in the summer otherwise its a sweaty mess when parked on the m25 where I spend most of my days. Its a tricky one..

Unusual choice but...

I saw an old english white Elise the other day with green stripes and it looked the mutt's!!
I've got silver, nice and safe, but next time I like the look of the dark reds aswell.

Magnetic blue with white stripes looks good. Yellow and black looks good too.

Cheers, the Blue with White looks great! I like the idea of the Dark Silver with one white and one yellow. I remember seeing that on a red Elise before and thinking it looked great.

The stripes on Goobys car looks the nuts and always gets looks when we head out. You might want to consider looking at the sports racer on teh 06 cars, dealers are now getting them in, i was treated to a look around them this week, and they look realy good, good spec as well, the only downside is that you cannot remove the stripes, but the finish is exellent.

I think viper stripes on Elises and Exiges look FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC

Might even get some yellow (with silver accents) for mine in the future .. my fav combination is the BRG with yellow stripes ...

being toying with the idea for a while, i've got a silver s2 and was thinking of getting darksilver or even black twin stripes and then painting the wheels black. what do you think? only problem is finding someone to supply and fit in the midlands area, and are they easily removed if i don't like??

as for the dream combo it would have to be old english white exige s2 with red viper stripes and red wheels rs style. tacky i know but wilsons had one for sale once and it looked awsome!
