Factory Tour : Any photo requests?
Discussion
Can i come? i was hoping to tour the factory early next year. For a Project on a TVR Cerbera. People on here have been superb sending me pictures. Although if you could possiably get me some to the cerbs been made, that would be great! I dont know the exact process so there is nothing inparticular that i require but any photos you could get on production of the cerbera would be truly appreciated.

Returned from Blackpool this evening, the tour was well worth the 8 hour round trip!
Even though I'm a bit of a TVR "know it all" (not always a good thing!), the tour was very interesting and definitely well worth it. Although I do not own a TVR, it is now a certainty that my next car will be one! Lisa was a great host and made us feel really welcome, we spoke about the Motorshow, which I attended and she has promised stand tickets for the next show, which is great.
We had a good look around and it was interesting to see how the development of the new cars was coming along. There were many T350 shells being finished and primed for painting.
The production line seemed to consist mainly of Tuscans, Tamora's and T350's, I can't remember seeing a Cerbera/Chimaera. The yard, out side was mainly full of T350 bodyshell's, waiting to go on to the production line.

One T350 was in the paint spray booth, it was being sprayed that Ferrari silver colour, forgotten the name
No T350's were beyond the painting stage of production but I suppose because they are so heavily based on the existing Tamora, things should progress quite quickly but we are talking about TVR here
So unfortunately no pictures of complete or nearly complete T350's.
One of the most interesting parts of the tour was seeing where the T400/440R's were being assembled. In the motorsport section was the factory demo/press T440R being assembled, it looked amazing and was being worked on by a dedicated number of men. From now on all T440R's will be built in the Motorsport area.
I wasn't allowed to take any pictures in this area, so I'm not doing very well on the requests, am I. I wanted to take some pictures of the finished customer cars out side but Lisa said that there had been problems with pictures/no. plates being published on the internet. Whatever that might mean.
So here's some Tamora's
Oh, and no factory tour picture album would be complete without some tubular chassis images
More pictures to follow, if I get round to it,
Rich

The white T350 used at the Motorshow was back at the factory and I think they said it was going to be used as the factory demo car. They were preparing it whilst we were there but we weren't allowed to see it.
The T440R in the motorsport section, the only one there, looked almost complete but in bits. It was black but at close inspection it wasn't a normal paint finish. It actually looked like the bare carbon fibre had been sprayed black, so the carbon fibre affect showed through the paint. Hard to explain really but very different.
There was no news about the T350 Targa, looking at my photos of the body shells, they all look like T350C's. However, may be the Targa's are produced like Tuscans, with the roof in place which is later removed, on the production line. I couldn't say but the focus did seem to be on the T350C, which is looking like a cracking car.

Seeing the large number of T350C shells in the piccies suggests that TVR have finished the design of the car. Does anyone know what they have decided about securing the luggage area and also are they still going for a side opening rear window opening.
