I've got a C5 Corvette and was thinking about adding a Monaro. Is £20K a good price for a 5.7l one with delivery mileage?

Cliff, I would say yes from what I have seen on the Network Q website. I thought most delivery mileage 5.7's were around £24,995.

Yep, it's still there."Lookers Vauxhall" think its a Birmingham area number. Looks like a 04 spec car delivery mileage only. Come on wifey, you really do need one for the school run!

Ah well I was too late, it sold end of last week. It was an unregistered 04. I shall keep looking.

They had some cheaper than the 3 on their website now. Perhaps a month or so ago and I think they were 04 plates @£21,697

Yes, Slaters have two unregistered O4 models on display, one red, one Silver.

1 O5 CV8 (unregistered) can't remember the colour - wierd silver/blue (can't think of name)

1 Red O4 VXR (ex demo or trade in), 1 Black O4 CV8 (£19,995.00) and another Black VXR O5 that got traded in because the guy said it used too much petrol!!!

I drive past Slaters every day, but I can't see the prices as the cars are parked quite a way back from the road.

I phoned Lookers too about the black one but it has gone as you've said , they have got a 'Devil' Yellow one if your interested..........£23K I think they said. Haven't quite worked out if it would look pretty cool with smoked windows or rather embarassing to be seen in ??!!

Have you guys thought about a 4dr HSV instead?

You can fit 5 adults in comfortably with all the luggage and whoooop one hell of a lot of cars.

They are also excellent family cars and ideal for shopping hehehe.

My car is a damn good example only for sale 'cos I am going to live in Oz and enjoy more HSV's!!!! It has 400HP+ mods and is one of the HSV's from the UK that has bee CHERISHED big time.

Looks like the best deals are to be done in the US. You can get a new 05 6.0l Pontiac GTO, which seems to be a VXR, for under $31K. This landed with car tax, VAT and SVA is under £25K. You can also get automatic if you like that.
I know it is LHD but that's no hardship.

Somewhat different from the 6.0VXR. One is a HSV product rebadged. The pontiac has diff, suspension, interior styling, equipment, wheels, steering, security etc etc and will be virtually worthless second hand in the UK

Of course! (but we are biased after tasting the HSV ownership experience! )

Thanks Caspy for the info.. I see what you mean about the wheels and the interior. I wonder why they have the Pontiac videos on the Vauxhall Monaro website.

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased by pride and joy, a 2004 Vauxhall Monaro 5.7 for £19495 with only 9700 miles. The car is perfect and well looked after so I think I got a good deal.
I do know there is a Yellow 2004 5.7 up on the Isle of Skye with 10000 miles and he only wants £19000. It was just too far for me to go but I can pass on the contact details to anyone who is interested.

Loving my Monaro btw, it "bluddy beauuutifull mate" (as the aussies say)! Now I know what REAL cars are all about!

There just aint no replacement for Displacement!
