Dismantling music

Hi all, i was wondering if there is any way i can "dismantle" a song just so i can have the strings part?? I have already looked for instrumentals of the song (brainbug-nightmare) and have found nothing. Is there anything else that can be done?

Only thing I can think of is to get hold of a midi file of the song and turn off all the other tracks.

If you can't chop it out with a filter, with the sounds being in their own frequency range, you're stuffed I'm afraid.
